Meet Our Team
Jay Barron has more than 17 years in the industry and has been a practicing broker in Tennessee since 2001.
His past clients have included music industry luminaries, medical & legal professionals, farmers, ranchers, builders, bankers, family trusts and corporate investors.
An Eagle Scout, avid conservationist and a fly fisherman, Jay was a founding member of Partners-In-Conservation LLC, and is a member of the Harpeth River Watershed Association, The Nature Conservancy, and the National Wildlife Federation. Jay has also worked closely with The Land Trust for Tennessee and Tennessee Parks & Greenways as a consultant on conservation issues.
As an Accredited Land Consultant, Jay's background in agricultural real estate includes the fledgling hemp industry in Tennessee. That market segment will also begin using industrial space as the industry develops. Village Commercial is well positioned to serve the hemp industry across the board, from farm to warehouse space to retail.
An accomplished musician, he spent his 21st birthday playing pedal steel guitar onstage at the Grand Ole Opry. Jay also has many years’ experience in international business with his tour production company, InterNash, pairing Nashville recording artists with concert promoters and festivals in Europe.
Phil Ryan joins VILLAGE Commercial from Cherry and Associates, where he has been a Vice President and Affiliate Broker since 2013.

A fifth generation Nashvillian, Phil holds a master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Tennessee and a bachelor’s degree in political science and city planning from Middle Tennessee State University.
He is active in the Downtown Rotary Club, on the Dismas House Advisory Committee, a board member of the Hillsboro-West End Neighbors, a Vice President of the Madison-Rivergate Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Greater Nashville Urban Land Institute and Greenways for Nashville and supporter of Conexion Americas.
